Failed Glucose Test

So today I failed my glucose test at my OB appointment.  I'm none too pleased.  For starters I have never had this with either one of my last pregnancies.  I am a pretty healthy girl and while I do admit I have been eating much less healthy with this pregnancy (can you say fast food anyone?) diabetic I am not.  My test was 168 which they said was way too high.  SO now I have to go back tomorrow morning and sit at the Dr.'s office for 3 hours.  I think I'm more P/O'd about having to waste half a day of PTO.  And basically there isn't anything they can do about it except send me to a nutritionist (which I don't need to go too) and have me buy a blood test thing (which I don't need - I'm pretty sure my Dad can let me use his since he never uses it).  I feel like calling my Dr. back and telling her, "Look, I get it...and I have been eating some real crap lately - - SOOOOO here's the deal I am going to eat much healthier from now on - problem solved." I mean do I look like I have gestational diabetes??

 Not a happy lady today!

Another Monday

Today is just another typical Monday for me.  Early to bed, early to rise.  I'm so overtired lately and it's because I am not sleeping well at all.  I have had a horrible headache for two days that just won't go away.  I even took Tylenol but it didn't do anything.  This is leading me to think I am for sure having another girl.  Although, I don't remember having headaches with Kaylie or Kelly but for some reason I just think that is a symptom of having a girl.  Also, we sold our old washing machine and dryer to a lady in our neighborhood and out of the blue she said, "What are you having, a girl?" I said, "We don't know." Then she said, "Ohhhhh...well I worked in a maternity store for 12 years so I can just tell".  Of course Bryan said I shouldn't listen to her but I think she might be right.  We are just destined to have a house full of girls.  I guess God wants to bless us with a bunch of Jennifer's because I am so much fun.  LOL.  All I know is please Lord help us when they start hitting the teen years.  ;)

One of my favs

One of my favorite bloggers Shannon (http://www.lifeafteridew.com/) did a blog today called the real me and it was so cute.  I'm coping her post today (I also copy her So What Wed.  - gee maybe I should come up with my own stuff, huh?!)  Here goes:

If you really knew me....

  • You'd know my first car was a brand new Pontiac Sunfire.
  • You'd know my second car was a brand new Camaro Z28 that I LOVED more than anything in the world!
  • You'd know I love German Shepherds b/c growing up our family pet was a black german shepherd named, Smokey.
  • You'd know I was a pretty wild child going through my teen years (that is putting it mildly).
  • You'd know I once got an MIP (minor in possession) for having a pack of cigarettes in my car.  My parents were always so cool to me about stuff like this...yes I got in trouble BUT they hired an attorney and it was a super young attorney, like his first case ever and he managed to get the MIP dismissed...I will never forget my Dad high-fiving the lawyer in the hall outside of the court room!!  LOL!
  • You'd know Bryan and I have been together since we were 16 years old (okay with lots of breakups and makeups in those early years).
  • You'd know Bryan and I lived in 3 different apartments before buying our first house.
  • You'd know we got married, bought our first house and had our first baby all within 4 months of each other and all at the age of 23.  That was a stressful year!!
  • You'd know I'm crazy close to my parents and I love it that way!

That's all I have for now...happy Friday!

A few random things...

Kelly is taking more and more steps it's so neat to see, scary but neat.  Last night she took about 3-4 for Bryan to see.  And that was a special treat b/c he missed the first day due to working late.  My work is driving me crazy, I feel like it's such a mess.  Between management changes, work load & lack of direction the whole office is just a mess.  I also wrote an article for our company newsletter that was well written, entertaining and perfectly described our business only to have our Sales/Marketing manager turn it into a blah-blah-blah BORING article.  Even my direct boss (who is way over the sales manager) was disappointed.  Kaylie has been awesome this week, helpful, sweet, positive and not giving me any attitude.  Obviously I am loving it!

SO What Wednesday!

This week I am saying so what to....

  • I let Coby sleep on our bed in the middle of the night b/c he sneaks on and then I don't have the energy to kick him off.
  • I am crazy-crazy-crazy about never having dishing in my sink.  It is one of my biggest pet-peeves to see dishes sitting in the sink.  It seriously takes 1 sec to put them in the dishwasher!
  • Since becoming pregnant (again) I have been eating fast food like 3 days a week...it's so gross and totally not like me but it tastes so good.  Yesterday I had Burger King Sweet Potato Fries - the commercial made them look so good, but they were just okay.
  • I feel like I wear sandals or flip flops a lot more to work lately. I feel so guilty b/c I used to say that was so not OKAY in the office.  And really I still think it's not okay but I do it anyway.
  • I am actually happy I am going on maternity leave so I can get out of my office for a few months.
  • I love Big Brother...and I think Willie got a bad deal.

1st Steps

The babysitter sent me a text today letting me know Kelly took her 1st steps!!!  Of course I am sad it happened with the sitter and not with me, but it's okay she will be doing it all the time soon enough.  She is starting to wave, walk and soon talk!  I just know any minute she is going to say bye-bye.

Look at that little butterball...don't you just want to kiss her!!

Happy Monday

Well as usual the weekend flew right by.  We did have a pretty good weekend though.  Kaylie stayed at my parents house Friday night so it was just me, Bryan and Kelly.  We went to Sam's (for Diapers - it's the only place I will buy them) and then out to dinner.  Kelly waved for the 1st time at the people sitting across from our table.  It was super cute!  I was in shock and the lady felt so proud that she - a complete stranger shared in that moment with us.  Oh how life has changed from bar hopping or even just sitting at home and drinking to diaper runs, dinner and the excitement of our baby's 1st wave.  ;)  And you know what, I really love it.  Saturday was the usual errands, grocery store, cleaning, laundry, mowing the law, etc. Sunday morning we went to church and then had Nana, Pop, Aunt Cydni, Joven, Ellye, & Michael over for lunch/dinner.  So it was a nice weekend...and I have to add I wasn't loving my new Tahoe until this weekend...and you know what I actually really love it now!  So that is a plus!  I guess it just needed to grow on me.

Well.....

We have a new car, suv, truck or whatever you want to call it.  I call it expensive.  It's brand new and smells lovely and drives smooth and is def. big enough for the whole family...but damn-it buying a new vehicle sucks.  Plus, we traded the truck in and that was super hard on me.  I loved that truck and we had so many awesome memories in it, not to mention it being paid off.  BUT like Bryan said we will make new memories in the Tahoe.  And he is right.

Farewell Old Truck...we will miss you.
Out with the old in with the new...and at least I can finally stop stressing  and talking about the car situation.  It was getting so annoying!!

Preggers Pic

I normally would not do this (and I actually can't believe I am doing it) but I sent a pic of myself to my friend today so she could see me 6 months (almost 7) pregnant.  Soooo...in light of sending her the pic I decided to upload it on here.  This will for sure be my last pregnancy so WTH, here I am!  ;)

Crazy Kids

Kaylie was in a crazy mood the other night and decided to dress herself up like some sort of super hero.  She has such a wild imagination!  LOL.

Kelly belly is getting so big!  She loves to be around her sister.  It's so fun to watch.  She has also figured out how to crawl up the stairs in our house.  SCARY!  We already have a baby gate at the top of the stairs but it looks like we need to go ahead and put one at the bottom too.

Kaylie's 8th Birthday

Friday night we ended up just having Taryn spend the night and that actually worked out great for me.  Kaylie and Taryn are such awesome friends.  They have known each other since they were 3 years old and they get along awesome!  If your a mother of a little girl you know that sometimes it's hard to find friends that don't fight and these two never fight.  It's always fun-fun-fun.  We went to Willies for dinner and the girls got mustaches from the quarter machines - they thought this was hilarious.  We had the wait staff sing happy bday to Kaylie and that was sooooo funny b/c Kaylie was not expecting it and the girls both had their stashes on when the waiters came out.  We also hit up Chuck-e-cheese after to dinner and didn't get home until almost 10pm. Which is late for me!

Saturday morning came way too fast the girls were up until around midnight (thats when I shut the party down) and we had to be up early to get ready for the circus.  The circus was fun but I have to admit Kaylie wasn't all that impressed.  :(  I think she is just getting too big for it....or maybe she was just over tired.

After the circus we were all pretty worn-out...we headed home and rested and then went to dinner.  Sunday my parents came and picked up Kaylie to take her to lunch and the movies.  We sang happy bday and had cake.  It was a good bday...but different since there was no party.  I think next year we will have to go back to throwing a party again.

So that's it my baby girl is now 8 years old.  She is getting so big and smart and pretty and we just love her soooo much!

TGIF

So glad it's Friday! Kaylie spent the night with Grandpa O'Neal and Elaine on Wed. night and had a blast.  She loved the Lion King!  We were happy to have her back home yesterday and today I'm leaving early to pick up her BFF and take her home with me for a sleep over.  It should be fun.  I think we will take the girls to Chuck-e-Cheese or Monkey Bizness tonight and out to dinner.  Then tomorrow is Circus time!  I think I am more excited about the Circus than Kaylie.  LOL.  Kelly belly will be missed though.  She is going to stay the night at my parents house so we can spend extra time with Kaylie and not have to take the baby to the Circus.  Speaking of Kelly she is so cute and getting so big.  She does the cutest things now...one of them is if anyone uses the hallway bathroom she crawls over to the door and flops down on her belly to try and peek under the door to see who is in there.  Its seriously the cutest thing EVER.  I am going to have to try and get a picture of her doing it.  Also, if I am ever eating anything (no matter what it is) she will come over to me and open her mouth and wait for me to give her some.  Of course there are some things I can't let her eat and then she gets super mad.  It's pretty funny!  I will post a bunch of pics on Sunday from this weekend!!

Wish-Washy

Okay so we went to pick up the "new" used Tahoe today and I did NOT love it or have a good feeling.  I told Bryan I just wasn't happy or excited or feeling good about it - soooooo we left it there.  It's a bit of a mess now b/c we did put money down on it and it's non-refundable BUT transferable.  So we have to figure something out.  I know it may seem like I am the most wish-washy person (that's what Bryan called me) but I had to go with my gut and my gut was telling me, NO don't do this...it's not what you want...NO STOP.  And if there is anything I have learned in my 32 years of life it is to listen to that little voice when it's speaking to me!

Kaylie's Birthday Week

So this Saturday my baby girl turns 8 years old!  It's crazy to think how fast 8 years has gone.  Sometimes I just want to freeze time.  She has a busy fun week starting tomorrow and I hope that it is wonderful for her.  She's going to the Lion King tomorrow night with Grandpa O'Neal and Elaine.  Then Friday night having a sleep over and Saturday going to the circus.  Saturday or Sunday she will spend time with Grandma & Grandpa and maybe go see the new Ice Age movie.  It should be a great birthday week for her. I feel a little guilty b/c normally we have a big blow-out bday party but this year just didn't work out like that.  Not that she is missing out on fun but it's just different this year.  I remember many birthday's when I was a kid that were spent with just me and my family going to dinner and having a homemade cake at home.  Of course I had some big parties but not every year.  So I guess we are bringing it back old-school style (as Kaylie would say).  =)

Bryan Wins

The bank called and all the numbers are good, we are happy with the interest rate.  Its really about as low as it can go, so that is good.  Thank the LORD we have good credit!  Soooo...as long as everything looks okay tomorrow we will bring it home.  It's midnight blue and I prefer black or white only but it's okay...I can live with it for a few years....

Weekend Update

Kelly went to Grandma and Grandpa's on Saturday while me, Bryan & Kaylie all went and test drove some cars.  We ended up putting money down on a Tahoe.  It is a couple years old and the dealership has a few things they need to do to it before we will officially buy it.....BUT it looks like we have a new SUV.  I really wanted the GMC Acadia but Bryan hated it.  So I compromised with him on the Tahoe.  I'm not super excited about it, but it will work for our family.  Below is a pic from Kelly at my Mom's house.  Not sure if she crawled in the basket herself??
After car shopping we went to dinner at Nana and Pops.  All was well over there and it was good to see Cyndi & the kids.  Afterwards Kaylie wanted to spend the night with Grandma & Grandpa so they picked her up and the next morning Grandpa put Kaylie to work in the yard.  Below is a picture of her all dirty from helping Grandpa.  LOL...this cracks me up!  Kaylie is so girlie and was not to happy about helping but my Dad did say she stayed out there for about an hour...of course he had to bribe her with $$$!!

4th of July and TGIF

4th of July was low-key this year.  Our neighborhood does a 4th of July parade and we are lucky it starts at the elementary school in the neighborhood which happens to be 1 street down from our house.  So we woke up had breakfast and walked out our front door to watch the parade.  Kaylie caught a bag full of candy and Kelly seemed to enjoy watching everything going on.  Then we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa's for some pool time and BBQ.  The end of the night was spent doing fireworks on our street with our neighbors.  It was a great 4th of July...I just wish it wasn't in the middle of the week b/c I had to go back to work yesterday.  Uhhh...that was not fun.  So happy today is Friday!!

Random Stuff

Tomorrow is July 4th, yah for a free day off work!  I wish I could have taken Thursday & Friday off but I need to save all my PTO for when I have the new baby.  Kaylie's bday is next week and she has a jam packed week of fun, going to the Circus, The Lion King, Ice Age and having a sleep over!  I have a Dr.'s appt. today it seems like I was just there the other day and really it's already been a whole month already.  Time is moving fast-fast-fast with this pregnancy.  Bryan is really-really-seriously trying to quit smoking and I'm so proud of him.  Obviously, we love the big guy and need him around for many years to come so we are all praying this time works!  Kelly belly broke out in a rash all over her body yesterday morning.  The nurse said it was just the reaction to the virus she had all weekend.  I guess she had that Roseola virus.  Kaylie had that one time and it was so much worse than this time with Kelly.  Kaylie had like 104-105 fever for 5 days.  I will never forget b/c I missed the whole week of work and took her to the Dr. almost everyday.  They kept telling me she was okay but I was freaking out.  Then on day 5 the fever stopped and the rash came over her entire body.  She looked terrible but it was a sign the virus was finally gone.  Luckily Kelly only ran like 101-102 fever and it really only lasted 3 days.  Also, the rash was only on her tummy and chest.  So I think we got off easy with her.  I just want both my kiddos to be healthy & happy for a good LONG while now...we have had way too much sickness for summer time.

Is it Monday again?

Wow this weekend flew right by.  Kelly was sick but started feeling better (no fever) on Saturday night.  Kaylie was her normal handful self.  And Bryan was - Bryan.  He's driving me absolutly crazy and it'a all around the new car search.  We took Kelly and Kaylie to my parents house on Saturday and went to test drive some vehicles and let's just say it didn't go so well.  Everything I want is nothing that Bryan wants and everything Bryan wants I feel is too expensive.  We are def. at a stale mate (or whatever you call it)...and it's not making life at home very sweet between us.  My whole argument is that Bryan does not have to drive this car on a daily basis.  Yes, it will be our "family" car that we take on road trips or to the beach or the Frio but that should not be cause for Bryan to decide what I drive everyday.  By Saturday evening I was totally over Bryan and the car argument.  Clearly Bryan understood I was not a happy little wifey because on Sunday he happily agreed to watch the baby while Kaylie and I went and got mani/pedi's.  When we got home he cooked dinner for all of us. Dinner was sooo good too...he made ribs perfectly and corn on the cob on the BBQ pit - yummm!  He even helped clean up the mess!  I suppose somehow the new car will work it self out otherwise I will be stuffing 3 kids into the truck for a while.
